Nancy Wilson died November 3 at her home on Viking Street after weeks of illness. Burial and funeral rites follow local custom.

James Mullineaux twelve year old son of E T Mullineaux and Sallie Mullineaux died at home east of Blue Lick Thursday night of typhoid fever with complications. Funeral at Blue Lick cemetery after services by Rev T H Boulware. Later notice: John Duval, long time resident and shoemaker, died Sunday morning and was shipped to Glasgow for burial.

The Wallace paper reports the death of W. B. Kincaid age 78 on October 20 after health decline. He lived in Wallace five years with his wife, at his son Shirley C. Kincaid’s home. Surviving children include John in California, Samuel in Fairbanks Alaska, Charles in Kansas, and 8. C. Kincaid in Wallace, Laura, Gertie in Kansas, and Mary in California. one son George predeceased him. A sister lives in Kansas City Missouri. Funeral plans are not yet set. remains are at Ward's.

Obituary notice states Mrs Mary Baldwin died Friday morning November 6 at age 83 at her daughter Mrs J W Cunningham’s home near Longwood Saline County line. A Christian church member and devoted mother and grandmother she suffered heart failure after three weeks of illness. Funeral services by J Reid and burial at the Cunningham family burying ground. She leaves two children six grandchildren great grandchildren and other relatives.

Two mules kill lightning near town
Sunday night a lightning strike killed two mules owned by Dick Carpenter north of town. The incident occurred as the animals were grazing, causing immediate fatalities with no reported injuries to people or other livestock. Authorities noted the event as an unfortunate act of natural weather.

Sparks Farm Sold to Grayson Under Sheriff Sale
Sparks Farm south of town on Blackwater known as Ossamus Hurt farm, over 500 acres with 9010 in claims, was sold by the sheriff by order of the circuit court. Wm A J Grayson of Matta Bend bought through his attorney D D Dugin at 69800, assumes indebtedness totaling 18810, about 37.62 per acre. Grayson had a 1500 judgment against Sparks but bought partly for protection despite a bargain.

Dr. D. C. Gore reported his East Arrow residence suffered heavy damage after a Wednesday fire. Firefighters saved the building though the upper story and roof were badly burned and the steam heating plant is believed to have started the blaze.

New Electric Railroad Aims St Louis To Kansas City
The New Electric Railroad company behind the St Louis to Kansas City line has secured 78 percent of the right of way and bridge permits. A civil engineer says plans include a double track with spurs to outlying towns, no grade over one percent, and curves under four degrees. The route would be the shortest between the cities, under six hours, with hourly local cars serving towns and crossings. Saline is expected to subscribe about $150,000 in stock, aiding regional development.
