Mrs. Alice Marin died at her daughter Mrs Geo Whittleton home in Slater early last Friday morning October 28. She was 60 and had suffered long with no complication of ailments. Her daughter cared for her with loving faithfulness throughout her illness.
Mrs. Martin, a faithful South Methodist of Marshall, died and was buried in Ridge Park cemetery after funeral services led by Rev. Faris at the church. Survivors include Mrs. Whittleton and Herbert Martin of this city. A large crowd attended.
Mrs Henry Utlaut died at her home near Grand Pass on Friday morning from heart failure aged about 35. She was ill only a short time and leaves three children.

The State Board of Agriculture funds a three day farmers institute in Marshall November 10 11 and 12 with free lectures by Missouri livestock and agricultural experts. Afternoon sessions start 130 PM and evening sessions at 730 PM daily including C M Long S M Jordan Miss Bailey and Prof McNatt discussing livestock dairying seed corn and household economics.
Uncalled for letters remaining in the Marshall Missouri post office as of November 2 1910 include Miss Mamie Barnes Mesdames H B Sullivan Hattie O White Frank Price Messrs Henry Hudson Jewel Cox and W C Major. If not called for within 15 days they will be sent to the dead letter office in Washington DC. L W Vandyke P M
Peecher and Sons establish a new stock of groceries in a store room on the south side of the square in the former A. E. Carpenter location. Mr Peecher retired last April after a long run since 1886 and is well known locally. Success to them.

QC entrepreneur L. Roppenhagen stops selling cars and will work only in harness and repair services. He will be at his shop after returning from a buying trip to St. Louis, attending to business.

L. H. Jackson of Warrensburg and partners have leased the Van Dyke building on the square. They will stock a new store modeled after Knox ten cent shops and expect to open about the 15th of the month.
S S Wright returns from the Klondike with about 7000 dollars in cash. His wife Julia Wright later moved to Montana, divorced him, and married stockman John Marks. Their children live in Canada, near Sedalia, and with Julia in Montana. Wright visits his brother-in-law Wick Davis in Napton as he searches for family and past fortunes.
Herman Strach of near Slater visited town Saturday with a damaged hand from an accidental cut by a broad ax. Robin Smith, driving south of town Thursday with L. L. Huff, suffered a severely injured arm when their buggy tipped over on a rough road. Dr Phelan bandaged the arm. Nim Noce cut his hand badly Friday with a meat cleaver at his butcher shop. Fortunate no bones were broken.
Among the sick, Miss Celeste Sandidge of Chicago, daughter of Mrs. Jennie Sandidge, was very ill last week but is better now. Mildred Louise Clawson, baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Clawson, has been sick the past two weeks, and Mrs. Stephen Tuders of College Addition is very poorly.
N. N. Ruff announced the arrival of a new daughter at his home on Saturday. The child is described as one of the finest babies, noted even by those who saw a “Hittle Roft.”
The Cumberland Presbyterian revival adds fourteen new members Edith Utz Bina Cooper Edna McDowell Rebecca Levisay Ethel Call Elizabeth Clark Louise Virginia Russell Samuel Sharp Russell Faris Zimmerman Ewell McKinney Jessie McKinney Willie Call Martin Farmer Kirby Lewis Whissett. An alliance from area churches formed to support a prohibition drive with Mrs A H Stephens elected president and Mrs B J Wharton vice president. Eight new members joined First Presbyterian and a record Sunday school attendance 611 was noted at the Maple Grove revival led by Rev J E Abbott. The Christian church hosted a temperance sermon at North Street M E Church and a tuberculosis talk by Mrs J F Kenner. The Rally Day social at Castle Hall featured an apple bobbing contest won by Jack Van Dyke, a raisin contest, and races between Hard Workers and Wide Awakes, with music from the college orchestra and solos by Mrs Stepelmer and Miss Margaret Stephens. The campaign in the Sunday school continues to grow, closing with a rally day score of Wide Awakes 750 points to Hard Workers Go 0.
