Nellie May Young born May 25 1680 married William F Harris July 13 1904 died October 28 1911. Joined Christian Church at nineteen. Funeral held Sunday October 20 at residence in south Marshall. Rev Steinheimer officiated, burial in Ridge Park. Friends thank Mr Madard for quartette music. she was an only daughter.
Mrs Fannie Kitchen longtime Baptist member died at her sister Mrs Georgia Cook's home in Ayres on Monday October 30 aged 42. Funeral services were led by Rev J E Norvell of Gilliam Tuesday afternoon with burial in High Hill cemetery per local notice.
Span of Percheron horses bred by F Ferguson and Son of Greeley Iowa sold by Col F M Stone on West Court Street. The matched bay geldings weighed 3140 pounds and stood 16 1 2 hands high. John Dyer bid them in at $400.
C P Rogers coast to coast aviator arrived in El Paso this afternoon amid a welcome by thousands. He was sighted at 2 54 and after landing near his special train, met with an accident two miles west of Fort Hancock. He was uninjured, repaired his plane, then continued 143 miles to El Paso in 140 minutes. He attended Juarez bull fight, plans to leave for Tucson tomorrow.
A Kansas reader, C F Phegiey, sends a two dollar fund check to the Republican for a subscription. He praises the paper for home news and the editor for a bold stance against the Taft administration. He notes good weather and harvest readiness for winter.
Topped the Market and W Hawkins of Fairville sold cars of cattle in Chicago on Monday. They received 9.00 a hundred, averaging 126.70 per head, the highest cattle price in years on the Chicago market.

Monroe Floyd of Blackburn, 65, a farmer and mason, died Thursday after his coat was caught in a cane mill while working last Wednesday. Dr. Richart of Blackbourn attended but could not help. Survived by a large family including wife and children. Funeral held Sunday at Blackburn Methodist Church with relatives present.
Three youths were thrown from a horse on South Odell near the city limits Wednesday evening. Jewel Burns broke a hand and needed Dr Harrison for treatment. Bob Rayle landed in three feet of mud but escaped injury, joking about carrying mud back.
Last Thursday afternoon J. M. Ramsey and workmen were unloading a car of heavy steel for a new hotel when a local freight crew kicked nine loaded cars into the car, a 3600 pound beam swung by the derrick, the derrick fell, wrecking the car and injuring no one. Ramsey narrowly escaped being struck. The incident drew sharp condemnation of the crew’s carelessness. A second derrick was sent from Sedalia and unloading resumed Friday.
Saturday evening at the Blackwater river bridge near Blackwater a wagon driven by P H Koenig went over the embankment after colliding with a line of wagons loaded with apples. Koenig was pinned under the wagon and horses, suffering several bruises before help arrived.

J F Handley and Miss Myrtle James wed at J W James home in west Marshall in October 1911. Rev Steinheimer officiated as a few intimate friends witnessed the ceremony. The happy couple are described as handsome and receive best wishes from a large circle of friends.
Lindell Haygood a pupil at East School broke his arm last Wednesday during see sawing after a fall. Dr Nackles treated his injuries.

Mrs FE Pemberton hosted her bridge club Thursday evening at her East Arrow home, serving a luncheon before guests departed. The Baptist ladies held a district missionary meeting at Gilli am last Tuesday and Wednesday. The Eagles Home buzzed Tuesday evening with a dance for the young and a barbecue and luncheon for the older members.
The Cumberland Presbyterian Sunday School held a stocking social at the I O O F hall on Friday night October 27 to raise funds. Invited scholars members and friends wore stockings with invitations and returned them with the pennies reflecting their size. A large crowd enjoyed homemade candies popcorn and light refreshments. About 35 stockings were made for the event.

The September Circuit Court, with Judge Samuel Davis, heard two notable Sweet Springs divorce actions and a third related case. Maggie Reineke sued W H L Reineke for non support. the judge dismissed. Stallings versus his wife, naming a local doctor, is under advisement. Earlier, Mrs Fila Phillips claimed a dowry after being proven the common law wife of Dr Davis and seeks property interests from a sale prior to his death.
