Mrs Sarah Loules Dowden died May 11 1914 at her Mt Leonard Missouri home of heart failure. Born March 4 1830 in Ninevah Virginia she married William F Dowden in 1857 and moved to Lexington Missouri later to Saline County. Survived by eight children and many grandchildren. Mrs Mary T Logsdon widow of Carroll Logsdon died Sunday at 8 30 p m at her daughter Mrs Harry Nerodon home in Blackburn after a three month illness of Brights disease and paralysis. A large gathering attended her Blackburn Christian Church funeral today at 2 30 p m. Survived by daughters Mrs Harry Nerodon of Blackburn and Mrs H Kane of Chicago and sons Carroll John Everett and Will Logsdon, all of this county.

Obituary for James Robert Soper at Slater home
James Robert Soper aged 83 dies Monday May 18 at his country home three miles from Slater. He had been in frail health, funeral held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Wid Hartly with Eld. R. M. Talbert assisting, burial in Slater cemetery. Born in Jessamine county Kentucky, he resided in Saline for nearly 50 years since after the Civil War. He married Sarah Allen, sister of H. G. Allen. Surviving children include two daughters Lula and Birdie and Allen Soper.

The Marshall high school will hold its annual commencement in the high school auditorium Thursday evening May 28. The baccalaureate sermon will be delivered by Rev. R C McAdie of the First Presbyterian church in the auditorium Sunday morning May 24 at 1 o clock. This year's graduating class numbers 61 the largest in Marshall high school's history and the largest in the state among towns under 10 000. Total enrollment this year is 270 with prospects for a larger attendance next fall. The enrollment is boosted by the commercial teachers' training and agricultural courses.
