Mitt Newt Ehart died at home in Saline Dakota March 22 from a paralytic stroke aged about 50. She moved from near Sweet Springs two years ago. Sister of Leeper and Geo King. Opa Pearson died at his parents’ home Little Rock early Tuesday of heart trouble aged 18 after 17 days with pneumonia. Arrow Rock services held Wednesday. Edward Joseph Edwards, 9, run over by a car in Kansas City on Monday, son of E M Edwards formerly of Saline. Remains brought to Marshall Ride Park Cemetery for Wednesday 1 30 pm services by Rev. Russell.

Receipts were light due to poor roads, with Monday the lightest in months. Steady close to last week, with steers at 4.00 to 5.40 and good beef cows 3.25 to 4.50. Died Among Strangers In Missouri Man Dies After Care
William Kolb called Moberly home, fell ill cared for by Henry Krumsick of Shackleford for weeks. Krumsick took him to the county farm where he died Sunday morning of pneumonia. Age about 55. Remains buried Monday. He claimed a small bank balance to be investigated by Mr. Oser. Krumsick praised for helping the old man.

Temperance Meeting Highlights City Election Debate

Briggs warned of liquor traffic and praised Marshall’s people while Abbott urged stronger temperance progress and Russell spoke on political duty and supporting right officials. The upcoming Tuesday city election offers Republican and Democratic tickets with several city offices listed and a vote on extending the lighting franchise and a new lighting contract on the ballot.

Reverend Harrison Green, a respected local colored pastor, left for Cairo, Illinois this week and is expected back today with a wife. He is noted as one of Saline's well-to-do colored men.

Derailed eastbound Missouri Pacific train no injuries reported
An eastbound Missouri Pacific passenger train No 32 derailed about a mile east of the depot Tuesday morning. Nine passengers endured a jolt but no injuries were reported as a wrecking crew from Jefferson City cleared the track by 6 PM.
