Mrs Joan Corder died at home in Grind Pass on Monday June 11. She leaves a husband and three children. Funeral at Waverly on Wednesday. Campbell died at his mother Mrs Mary Campbell's home in the city on Tuesday from consumption, aged 42. His funeral was held at the Catholic Church at Shackelford yesterday afternoon.

Fire destroys General BR residence and furniture loss
Horne reports his residence burned last Thursday with an estimated value around 7000 dollars and furniture about 2500 dollars. The house suffered nearly total loss with 4000 dollars insured and furniture loss about half uninsured. Insurance adjusters had not arrived by Wednesday morning.

Shot Mad Dog Near Slater Ends Chase
Jos Hermann of north of Slater faced a mad dog in a barn yard at around one o'clock Monday. He steered horses aside as the dog passed within three feet of a horse, then pursued it with Herb until Jus Witt's, where they shot it. The spotted four year old hound had not bitten anyone. Amos Sittleton killed a mad dog in his cornfield last week in the same community.
