WM Murphy longtime county resident died at his Clay township home last Saturday at age about 102. Funeral services led by Rev C O Neal of Church of God occurred in Crearville on Sunday. Ernest Noel son of Dr and Mrs J A Noel of Sweet Springs died at home on Tuesday July 1 at 17 after years of invalidism. Rev C T Wallace of the Methodist church conducted services at the residence at 10 am and burial followed at Fairview cemetery.

Miss Lorena Lampton Devastates Kirksville Scene
Miss Lorena Lampton, once living on College Addition then Kirksville with her parents, married to Dr. Joe Knight of Dallas. While driving with friends, their car collided with an interurban rail car. she died four days after, after being thrown against a telephone pole. A faithful Odell Ave church member, she had been en route to visit her sister.

Death by Own Action Shocks Blackburn Area
Henry Borchers a well to do resident committed suicide with a shotgun on Sunday morning after a dispute over shipping cattle to market. He was son in law of Mrs Wisseler who died the same day. He is survived by his wife a daughter and two adopted sons. No reason found beyond worry over cattle shipment at four o’clock.

Wealthy farmer thrown from buggy near shoe factory

Boy burned at Gilliam home in weekend accident
Three year old Verner Willis suffered serious burns at his grandparents home four and a half miles southeast of Gilliam last Saturday evening. He went upstairs to fetch toys, found a lit match, and caught fire. Family members aided in the rescue while Dr. A L Miller treated the injuries. The child remains in serious condition but improving.

Cat Fish Bites Farm Boy Near Rich Hill
