Dated Death Notices and Local Obituaries Review

A series of local obituaries and death notices recounts the deaths of Mrs. A. N. Irwin age 47 after a fall from a cherry tree. J. L. Clark son-in-law of Mrs. Sarah A. C. Moore who died of stomach cancer. Mrs. Sarah A. C. Moore age 158 years 2 months and 13 days. Miss Mmie Moore and Mrs. Moore interred at Mt Olive cemetery. William Winkler age about 65 died of heart and lung trouble. Marshall Reed age 45 died after long illness. public reaction to a police incident following a man struck by a billy club with no officer action noted.

Death of E. B. Parks Father in Marceline

E B Parks father died Friday morning at his home in Marceline Linn county in his 84th year after a few hours illness. He left five sons and two daughters. Parks had lived in Linn and Chariton counties 36 years and was a Watkins Medicine Co. representative. He and his wife attended the funeral. Our sincere sympathy to the family.

Two Farm Deals In Central Missouri Transfers

A. D. Plattner of Grand Pass sold a 300 acre farm to Wm. Atlant for 30000 dollars and bought Thos Malter’s Malta Bend property for 27000 dollars at 117 dollars per acre. Possession is to be given late March. Malter contemplates moving away. the writer hopes he stays.

Saltonstall Agency Reports Property Transfers Near Town

Saltonstall Real Estate Agency documents sales including 60 acres north of town sold by M. B. E. Miller to William Corcoran for 3000 dollars. Corcoran's town property entered the deal for 1500 dollars. Fred Theiss bought Miller's own property for an unspecified amount.

Marshall Churches Plan Evening Services Next Sunday

The Marshall churches will hold fusion services in the Cumberland Presbyterian church lot during the heated season in the evenings starting next Sunday. Residents are invited to attend and participate in the community prayer and devotion.

Saline County Fair Probate Court Directors Officers

The Saline County Agricultural Fair Association lists officers S J Hess president H H Downing vice president Thos H Bagnell secretary and a long director roster including Budd Downs Miami Dan Johnson Nelson Riley Johnson and others. The fair runs July 24–27 on the Bugell farm near Marshall with premiums totaling several hundred dollars each day and a public appeal for exhibits. Also included are numerous estate final settlements and guardianship actions for local residents in Marshall and surrounding areas.

Blair Home Burns on Capitol Hill Sunday Night

Fire destroyed the Blair residence on Capitol Hill around midnight. Firefighters battled flames but the house and much of the furniture burned. loss about 2300 with 1200 insured. Witnesses Blair and Shreckler were lightly hurt. no fatalities reported.

Township Conventions Held at Ridge Prairie School House

Meeting at Ridge Prairie school house called to order by committeeman Geo T Stone who was chosen chairman with Samuel Perkins as secretary. Geo T Stone reelected township committeeman. Delegates named for the county convention include C Crittth Samuel Pecklue Ceo T Stone Samuel Perkins and Samuel Perkins as secretary with Geo T Stone as chairman.

Local township meetings nominate delegates to county convention

July 7 meetings across Slater Opens House and Little Rock approve delegates for Cambridge and Clay townships. Officers elected include Geo W Markwell and A M Parker. Delegates, instructed to back J Will Allen for circuit clerk and Geo D Harris for county collector, were named. Similar actions occurred at Herndon and Salt Pond townships with delegates chosen and instructions to support George Harris for Saline county collector and J Will Allen for circuit clerk.
