John Dillon died at home near Sweet 5 on Friday evening from diabetes after illness. He is survived by his wife and children. A short service was held by Rev. G. B. Shanklin and the Modern Woodmen laid him to rest in Fairview cemetery. K Thomson of this place died in Smithton on Thursday at 72, son of Thomson, early county settler. He leaves a wife and six children. Attending the funeral were Dr. Howard Ford and wife and R. A. Jennings and Pp. A. Powell of Slater.

Mary Brown MES Died at Napton at 64
Mary Brown MES died suddenly at her Napton home at 4 a.m. Wednesday of heart failure. Her body was found by a boy that morning. She leaves three sons David Brown in the Philippines Roland and Ed Brown. A Baptist church member most of her life she was regarded as an excellent lady. After Baptist services Wednesday evening her remains were laid to rest in Napton cemetery.

Ed. P. Leimkuhler of City reports the death of infant BABY LEIMEUGLER aged one month and a few days from gastro enteritis. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. P. Kiindworth and interment followed at the Lutheran cemetery, according to the Gilliam Globe.

Our Celebration Fourth of July Celebration Success
Our Fourth of July event was a big success with ideal weather and an immense crowd. Barbecue proved a novelty to many as about six thousand were served. The day passed with almost no disturbances or accidents. A quarrel at the ball game led to arrests after a young man from Arrow Rock had been drinking.

Painful Auto Crash Near Mayview Injures Man
M Scott, returning from an auto trip to Nebraska, had his foot crushed when the car suddenly jumped, ran a quarter mile into a bank of earth, and stopped. He dragged himself to the machine, drove five miles to Mayview, and received treatment for a dislocated ankle and sprains from Dr. Coggins of Higginsville. He later sold the car and continued to Marshall to recover.
