Mrs Arthur T Vawter formerly Clara Irvine of Fairville died Monday June 29 after a long illness due to stomach trouble. Aged 30, she was taken to her parents’ home where a Louis specialist tried surgery but failed. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Funeral at residence in Fairville Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Rev J E McDonald officiated, burial at Ridge Park cemetery.

Death of James Marr Farm Candidate Near Nelson
James Marr, once regarded as healthy and jovial, died of heart failure at his Nelson area farm on Tuesday morning. The county collector candidate had recently endured facial trauma symptoms and had just returned from Blackwater where he shipped hogs when the fatal attack occurred. Peyton Jeter died Saturday night June 25 at his sister Mrs E B Millers home in Wakita Oklahoma from heart trouble linked to previous fire-related excitement at Malta Bend. He was son of S B Jeter of Miami and survived by his wife and one year old daughter. A former Malta Bend merchant he had to stop work due to ill health. His body returned Monday for M E Church South services conducted by Rev Barrett and Rev Kemper.

John Dirck formerly of Hughesville now in Lincoln Kansas and his employer Truman Gould started toward a brother's ranch. A sudden wild dash of frightened horses caused them to plunge a sixty foot embankment. Dirck awoke at 6 am after the plunge. Gould died at 8 am. Dirck, badly shaken, was aided by a nearby ranch and taken for care.

First Marshall churches hold outdoor union service
On a Sunday evening the first union outdoor service was held at First Presbyterian Church lawn with Elder B T Wharton delivering a sermon on unity among churches.
