Wedding of Miss Clara Irvine and Mr Arthur Vawter at Irvine Home
One of the season's prettiest weddings took place at the Irvine country home in Fairville. Miss Clara Irvine and Mr Arthur Vawter exchanged vows before Rev. Thomas of Marshall, with Mendelssohn music, a pink and white decor theme, and an elegant dinner for twenty-four. Guests from Marshall and nearby families attended, including the groom's siblings and relatives. The couple will reside at 230 East Arrow Street after a reception in Marshall.

Death of Mrs. J. W. Sparks at Marshall Missouri
Mrs. Julia Garrard Sparks of East Arrow Marshall died Sunday night after a year long illness. Born September 17 1838 in Bourbon county Kentucky she joined the Christian church at age twelve and later the Baptist church. She and John W. Sparks married November 3 1859 and lived in Saline county Missouri before settling in Marshall. Seven children nine grandchildren and a life of faithful church work marked her years. Funeral services were Tuesday at 10 AM at the Baptist church conducted by Revs Kemper Howell and Dr Black.

Saline County Convention Plans World’s Fair Exhibit 1903
The Saline county convention convened at 11 am with E. D. Martin as president and F. W. Taylor as secretary. Committees were formed, officers elected, and a permanent county organization proposed to promote a World’s Fair exhibit in St Louis in 1903 with an agricultural display in Marshall next fall.
