L P Douglass Dies in Higginsville Home At Marshall
L P Douglass, a former Marshall citizen, died February 15 at the Confederate Home in Higginsville after a long life. He ran a drug store near the town square, later succeeded by Dr M A Brown. His body was brought to Marshall for burial at Ridge Park Cemetery. Survived by his widow and two Kansas City residents.

William Leffler Dies at 45 in Nelson Pneumonia
William Leffler died at his Nelson home Friday morning February 18 after eight days of illness from pneumonia. He was about 45 years old and survived by his wife two young children. His funeral was held at the Methodist church at 2 p m Saturday followed by burial in Nelson cemetery. He was born near Nelson where his father lives and leaves many friends and his family.

Pioneer Citizen Shepherd Remembered as Stalwart Helper
The obituary notes the passing of Mr. Shepherd, a longtime Audrain and Saline county resident, born in the mid-1800s, a Republican who worked from modest beginnings to a comfortable livelihood through farming and tobacco. He married Rebecca N. Wassen in 1850, raised a family, and was esteemed as a sturdy, honest pioneer.

Death of Joshua C Reynolds A Miami pioneer citizen
Joshua C Reynolds of Miami Missouri died at his home on February 17 1910. Born August 2 1841 near Jefferson Town Kentucky he came to Missouri in 1842 and lived on the old home place in Miami except for a few years. He married Ruth Vaughn in 1866 and had nine children Alice Nettie Bettie Philips David Jessie N James W Benjamin F and Samuel W all living. He had six brothers and four sisters. His wife died in 1908. Reynolds joined the church in 1866 and was one of Miami's oldest citizens. The funeral was held at the Christian church and burial followed beside his wife.

Hog receipts 500 with market steady to strong and 30 to 40 cents higher than week ago. top hogs 9.60, bulk 9.30 to 9.45. Poison in Rush Institute Ties to Swope Deaths
Chicago Feb. 19. The Rush Medical Institute laboratories loosened their guard in chiefs absence and preliminary tests by Dr Walter S Haines show strychnine in both Chrisman Swope and Margaret Swope stomachs and in the tissues of Chrisman Swope. Officials say the levels exceed medical doses and investigators believe the poison contributed to the deaths of Chrisman and Thomas H Swope.
