Died at the home of her son 24 miles northeast of Wana mater at age 86 after a sudden paralysis. Funeral held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem church cemetery with Paris Walker as undertaker. Also, col died Wednesday Jan 30 of consumption, about 60, buried Friday with Masonic honors. long time cook at Hotel Hart.
The Wright case drew heavy public interest as jurors acquitted him after a trial over the August killing of Alana Grayson. Grayson, living with Mrs Hutchinson in Lexington, had vowed to reclaim the two Grayson girls from Elmwood. Wright, who had been repeatedly attacked, claimed self defense after Grayson approached with a knife. Wright fired his revolver, Grayson died, and Wright was defended by Col. R. B. Ruff. The jury returned a not guilty verdict after a lengthy trial and closing remarks.
Wm Meschede Prosecuting Attorney Barbee led the prosecution but the case was weak. The jury retired at 8 p m and returned their verdict at 9.
A letter from Floyd Wilson arrives with weather brag about San Antonio. It states it is 85 in the shade, prompting curiosity about how the reader is faring in a deep cold spell elsewhere. The scene plays on the contrast between climate and local sentiment.
The Senate passed the McCumber pension bill on January 1d and the House on February 4th. It provides an age pension of $12 for veterans 62 years and over, now awaiting the President's action.
The Kansas City Court of Appeals affirmed the Saline county circuit court verdict in W. D. Bush versus John Brandecker. Brandecker is awarded 3165.07 plus costs totaling about 84000. Bush, recently retired probate judge, faced counterclaims over a loan dispute. Col. R. B. Ruff represented Brandecker.

T W Phillips near the cemetery and Mesdames Jenkins and Le Burnides have battled grip this week. All are recovering or back at health after illness last week.

The Saline County Creamery reports its annual cash receipts and expenses including balances on hand, receipts from milk, butter payments by wire, and dividends. The document lists totals such as cash on hand and milk received during the year, with figures partially legible.
J. D. Billingsley answers roll call again and shows improvement this week. Dan O'Brien reports Geo Nye of the Plains remains seriously ill and not much improved.
A summary of early county records shows Neal Fulton wed Lucy Harris on January 26, 1821 with Bartholomew Gwinn as justice of the peace and license issued by B. Chamblers. March 8, 1821 saw Joseph Wilson marry Polly Millsap of Arrow Rock. The color marriage record book opened April 1865 lists Wilson Colder and Phebe Jenkins as first entries, with Justice Jigol Hood officiating.
The Association of Young Republicans of Missouri will hold its annual dinner at the Midland Hotel in Kansas City on Friday evening February 15. Secretary BR. C. Lake of Kansas City invites those wishing to attend to contact him for information.
The gentlemen of the First Presbyterian church met at Castle Hall Monday night and organized with officers led by President Jacob Van Dyke and Abiel.
Mrs Louis Lacomb of Hayward Wis described years of severe pains and back trouble before seeking advice. After a short course of the remedy she credits, she reports feeling well and expresses gratitude to those who recommended the therapy and helped her.
Lemard as vice-president S. Montgomery as secretary dis G. Barnett as treasurer. A committee on constitution and bylaws was appointed. The brotherhood will meet monthly. Joan De Rothrock Milton wand Riley Johoson Mote and Dee Hayward and W A Saith came from McAllister to meet the county court about the washed out bridge. The bridge will be promptly replaced, likely by a new one.
