R S Sandridge editor of the Progress received a letter from Senator E D Martin claiming he published the enactments bill at J West Goodwins request from Sedalia The bill critics called extravagant and Martin attacks the Progress as trifling low-down and nasty He vows vengeance and hints at retaliation against the Stephens board of F M I managers The Republican may publish further letters unless the vitriol subsides
