Death of Col Hezekiah Purdom veteran Missouri editor
Col Hezekiah Purdom, 79, veteran Missouri editor and grandfather of Felice Lyne, died Tuesday February 4 at his home in Kansas City. Funeral at home Tuesday at 2 pm. Burial in Forest Hill. He was born in London Ball's county, Mo, learned the newspaper business as a boy with Hannibal Courier, worked on St. Louis Republic, owned and edited several Missouri papers, and served as engrossing clerk of the Missouri House and as newspaper clerk in Washington, D. C. Survived by wife Dr T. BE Purdom, and three daughters Mes Zadie Purdom, Mrs Sanford T. Lyne, and Mrs Fred EB Moore of Portland.

Miami Exchange Sold to Harrie Brothers
J L Williame sold the Miami Telephone Exchange to Joe and Boyd Harrie of the Sharon neighborhood for about 2000 dollars. Possession will be March 1. The exchange, started in 1900 by F M Igiheart, later owned by W E Dickerson, houses 160 to 200 phones and is described as a paying investment.
