Deaths of Rufus Warren Eddy and John J Brice in Marshall
Prominent local farmer Rufus Warren Eddy died suddenly Saturday of heart failure at 70 after a brief illness. He was born in Pennsylvania, married Mary Button in 1862, lived in Iowa then Missouri for 37 years, survived by three children and four grandchildren. Funeral at Shiloh church conducted by Rev. Reeves. Also: John J. Brice, Marshall resident aged 79, died Thursday in College Addition after years of poor health. He left seven children. burial was at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

On Tuesday night the Cumberland Presbyterian church honored its 100th anniversary at the Odd Fellows Hall in memory of pastor Rev. J E Cortner birthday. A large crowd of 15 to 200 attended a supper then feasting and music by Mrs. Ransberger Mr. Hatton and the Peecher boys. A rocking chair presented to Rev Cortner by Dr Ed Sharp followed the birthday cake cutting with Miss Pearl Scott receiving the ring Miss Ruby Scott the dime and Rev Chin ton Cox the darning needle.
