James Davis, a stranger, was arrested and arraigned before Judge Reuben Davis on a charge of stealing rubber boots from Rose Buckner. He pleaded guilty and will serve thirty days in the county jail.
The Marshall Chautauqua advisory board of twenty leading citizens faces a breach of contract suit by Miss Mabel Wagner Shank. The action, filed this week, seeks trial in Kirksville in mid January and questions the board’s contract dealings with Mrs. Shank.
