Emma Lena Lindsey Branscom died after a months long illness of tuberculosis in Alma Missouri where she spent her youth and married William Branscom. She left behind a husband and young daughter Avia Virginia and was remembered at a May 20 service at Mittle Union church with interment at Maple Grove cemetery.

J B White aged years died at his East Yerby Street home at noon after an extended asthma illness. He and his wife had traveled in the South for health, returning from Waco Texas Monday in critical condition. A pioneer citizen and former Bank of Saline director, he was an old member of the First Presbyterian Church. Funeral Thursday at 2 p.m. from the residence conducted by Rev R C McAdie, burial at Ridge Park.
