Death of Rev DeWitt Clinton Bolton pastor and author
Rev DeWitt Clinton Bolton aged 66 died suddenly Tuesday night of acute edema of the lungs after attending a prohibition contest at the college. He lived near East Summit, had served as pastor in Saline, Gilliam and Grand Pass areas, and recently wrote a history of the Baptist church in Saline county. He left a wife Lena Graves and children Mrs. J. R. Clampitt, George R. Duncan, Ralph Bolton, and daughters Casale, Margaret, Perry, and Hatcher. Funeral held Thursday at 2:30 pm at First Baptist Church with Rev. G. W. Hatcher and Rev. Wm. Vardeman officiating. Burial at Ridge Park cemetery.

A county schoolteacher formerly ran a school in the Miami neighborhood until ill health forced her to quit. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in Herndon with burial at Hage Grove cemetery.
