Manitoba offers management training to 127 small operators
Manitoba Industry and Commerce Minister Len Evans announced that 127 owner operators of small businesses in nine communities have taken part in a 30 hour management training course launched last March. The program, run by the Departments of Industry and Commerce and Colleges and Universities Affairs, covers topics from profit planning to marketing and human resources.

Pension Guarantee Increases in Manitoba October 1
Manitoba pensioners will receive higher guaranteed incomes from October 1. Single, widowed, and divorced pensioners will have 244.97 monthly, up from 241.01, with OAS and GIS totals and a quarterly Manitoba supplement of 23.46. Married couples with both over 65 will gain to 469.76 per month, with each spouse receiving distinct OAS, GIS, and Manitoba supplements and a quarterly 25.49 cheque per couple. The Manitoba supplement is reduced by outside income. the changes stem from 1974 legislation affecting about 32,000 pensioners and spouses aged 60 to 64 in certain cases.

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind asks for financial support to fund its multi service program helping newly blinded Manitobans relearn daily living skills and reenter their community. CNIB relies on contributions to enable realistic job training and independence for about 1,500 blind people in Manitoba.

Park Residence News Farewell for Delbridges at lounge meeting
Visitors included Alf Youngs and Doris Youngs from Provo Utah. Delbridges bid farewell after a long stay of 742 years in the home as Mrs. Tweed read Mr. J. Gunson's address and Mrs. W. Campbell funded a large picture for their new house. A lunch and cards followed with plans for a bridal shower in October.
