Municipal Council Holds General Meeting September 17 1971
The Municipal Hall convened a general council meeting Friday with all members present. Minutes from August 26 were adopted and the finance committee reviewed the August report. The council allocated funds including 4,147.50 to WestMan Nursing Home and 500 to Weed Control, approved certificate purchases, added lands to the tax roll, supported CKX television, and adjourned to October 12 1971.

U C W Meet Miniota September Meeting Recap
The UCW October meeting of Miniota held in the church basement with ten members present. Mrs Chas Armitage presided and Mrs R Kayes gave the treasurer’s report. Discussions covered Birdtail Centennial furniture needs, mobile cupboard plans, and the inside toilet project. Thanksgiving notes, a tea invitation, fall and winter programs, supply items due by October 31st, and catering for Cheryl Thompson’s October wedding were noted.
