On Monday September 13, the architect and structural engineer Bou dini visited Hamiota to inspect the present building with Mrs. Hadland and Mrs. Caldwell. Mrs D Cowling left Sunday with her daughter for a few days visit in Winnipeg. Mrs John Sutherland has visitors from Texas. Mrs Bardwell visited Allan Armitage's Miniota. Gardham's visitors included Don Fallon Mrs Doug Fallon Bill Neil and Lawry from Fox Warren Mrs Larry Hunkin and Wilma from Crandall.
The Municipal Hall convened a general council meeting Friday with all members present. Minutes from August 26 were adopted and the finance committee reviewed the August report. The council allocated funds including 4,147.50 to WestMan Nursing Home and 500 to Weed Control, approved certificate purchases, added lands to the tax roll, supported CKX television, and adjourned to October 12 1971.
The UCW October meeting of Miniota held in the church basement with ten members present. Mrs Chas Armitage presided and Mrs R Kayes gave the treasurer’s report. Discussions covered Birdtail Centennial furniture needs, mobile cupboard plans, and the inside toilet project. Thanksgiving notes, a tea invitation, fall and winter programs, supply items due by October 31st, and catering for Cheryl Thompson’s October wedding were noted.
The A C W met at Mrs Horners on September 20 with five members. They planned a cotton square crazy quilt cutting 12 inches wide and to pack a mission box with church basement articles by October 15. The next meeting will be at Mrs Wadhams.

Reverend Clark officiated. Pallbearers Dallas Smith Jim Steven Lyle Smith Garth Strachan Neil McCallum Arnold Gray. Flower bearers Keith Ritchie Ian Lobban Don Smith Bryan Smith Melvin Smith Dennis Smith Garry Cochrane Murray Mathison. Campbell Funeral Home Hamiota in charge of arrangements.
