Municipal Council met at the Miniota Hall with most members present. Reeve Page presided and minutes from July meetings were adopted. The group discussed museum survey results, PF A forms, tax sale plans, land lease, convention attendance, and multiple financial and bylaw actions. Adjourned to October 10 1972.
Windy dusty afternoon hosts a Golden Age gathering in Miniota Beulah Community Chapel basement with Group 2 in charge. J Cook read September birthdays as members shared gifts, prizes awarded for gum sculpture, lunch served to thirty seven members and guests from Birtle, New Horizons discussion noted, next meeting set for October 18 at Miniota Community Centre.
Mr. J Dickie returns home after surgery at Winnipeg General Hospital. Community mourns the death of Arnold Stowe who served on Municipal Council. Sympathy extended to Mrs. and Mrs. Larry Stowe and family. Cliff Walker returns to Flin Flon after three weeks at home. Mr. and Mrs. George Outhwaite plan a West Coast holiday. Nine Miniota graduates from Birtle Collegiate last year are noted. Students and locals pursue studies and jobs, including Fay Bryant at Assiniboine College, Debbia Armitage seeking Winnipeg work, Debbie Richardson training as psychiatric nurse, Beth Taylor to work at Westman Nursing Home, Heather Thompson at Ritz Biscuit in Winnipeg, Matthew Bunn at University of Manitoba, Dennis Richardson and Jack Bryant at home, Dennis Leland employed at Winnipeg Airport.
