The forage seed policy returns with eight mixtures at $2.00 per acre for sowing down poorer land. Some class II land farmers facing erosion drainage or salinity issues may buy seed. 10 20 or 30 acre allotments available. Several mixtures are updated with two discontinued. Order by November 14 1969 to ensure seed. Also warnings on lead poisoning in Manitoba cattle urge prevention and show symptoms timing and death risk.
The Birdtail River School Division No 38 held meetings Sept 12 and 18 1969 at Shoal Lake with trustees Fulton Rapley Selby Hames Lewycky Butcher Hyndman Waddell Falloon Armitage present. Motions approved minutes finances staff appointments bus routes and by law 11/69 authorizing a Birtle Collegiate addition contract with Hoffman Construction.
Mrs Bardwell entertained visiting guests from Virden including Mrs E Kennedy and Mr E Borland. Several local residents attended the Golden Age party at Miniota Hall on September 17 with thanks to Merv Pedlow for transportation. Recent callers included Mr and Mrs Lawrence Bird and Miss Ann Kreager. Mrs Fred Morris visited relatives in Winnipeg Emerson and Silver Plains. A large extended family enjoyed nine days of pleasant weather.

Dr Frank Kennedy notes expanding demand. 171 applications for 1967 68, 70 accepted, with intervie ws of all applicants based on academics athletics and leadership potential.
