Fresh honey ready for markets guided by agriculture department
The Canada Department of Agriculture advises consumers to buy thick clear honey from producers and avoid thin watery samples. Grading rules apply to retail honey with producer or packer name, while direct-from-beekeeper sales need not be graded. Early harvests risk high moisture and fermentation. Roadside stands aid sales though uncommon among Canadian beekeepers.
