News items note visitors to Birtle and nearby towns, unemployment relief plans, and church meetings. Railway shop closures in Weston Calgary and Vancouver threaten 1800 jobs while a creamery project stalls awaiting a new site and water access.
Colin James Hall and Marion Alice Barton, both of Binsearth, were married in a Sunday ceremony at the United Church Mini ets with Rev. J A Stephen officiating. Witnesses were present and the event was described as a very quiet wedding.

The W A of Holy Trinity Church holds a sale of home cooking and silver tea at A J Lelenas Hotel on Saturday September 26 from 8 p.m. The cooking sale continues after supper but tea is not served.
The Girls Auxiliary at Holy Trinity Church will stage a sale of fancy work home cooking and silver tea at the home of Mrs KR Kollins on Saturday October 10 at 3 p.m.
A committee plans urgent work on tent wells and cement orders before cold weather. A livestock feeding event at the Dominion Experimental Farm Brandon will run on Saturday September 26 starting at 9am. The farm houses over four hundred head, with pig feeding trials near ready for worker inspection and visitors. Dressed poultry from the crate feeding expert also featured.
The Mimota community hosts a Friday field day at the Miniota school grounds with an open event lineup. Entries for P Junior and S Senior divisions are due by Thursday at 4 pm with details including names ages events and classes. Awards will be given to event winners as the programme promises a lively afternoon at 1.15 pm.
The Mintota rural council met Friday to approve routine business and pass resolutions. They notified the Municipal Commissioner that the current band covering the secretary treasurer is sufficient. They exempt registered guests of public hotels from the new 100 telephone roll fee. They reduce the 1931 appropriation to one half mill and authorize the Reeve and Secretary to interview the Bank and Provincial Government about reforming the municipality and schools. The secretary is to print unemployment census posters and file applications with WJ Budd or John Spalding. The secretary is told to pay a $20 membership fee to the Union of Municipalities for 1931 and issue a duplicate cheque to JG Bennett. They will rent three rooms over the municipal hall to C Rapley for 6.09 per month.
The report notes Councillor Budd in attendance at a recent meeting and describes his improving condition from a recent illness. It expresses confidence he will soon be mobile again and in better health.
Beulah Bits notes services for St Winlford's Harvest Festival on Friday September 27 at 7 pm Rev. W. J. Finch of Birtle to conduct the service and all are warmly invited to attend.
Beulah on Sunray birth announces the arrival of a son to Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Johnson born September 10. The newborn adds a new member to the Johnson family.
