Newly elected officers of the local Canadian Association of Consumers are Pres ident Mrs S Taylor Vice President Mrs C W Ellerington and Secretary treasurer Mrs G Long The W I will meet at the Community Centre September 12 at 2 30 p m Inspector P H Funk will speak on the Junior High School curriculum and mothers of students in these grades are invited A memorial service is noted for Alexander Lynn Ferris who died August 3 in Hamiota Hospital He was born in Austria Ireland and came to Canada in 1910 farming in the Chumah district He is survived by wife one son and three daughters The service was led by Rev A Friebert and Orange Lodge members attended Also noted are Goldiin McConnell s Chapel tea and sale and a congratulations to Dave Rowan manager of the Minicta Creamery for a butter prize at the Bandon Exhibition

Notice from Rural Municipality of Miniot reports the death of Thomas Burt in Calgary on September 3, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Burt of Miniota rommy, aged five, survived by parents a brother and two sisters. It also records local church activities including WMS meetings, mission talks on Prayer Book revisions, clothing contributions for northern missions, a December 6 Christmas Bazaar, and new Mission Band officers led by Mrs Tennant. Tea for parents at Brance Geners Hospital and various gatherings for Holy Trinity and other church groups are noted alongside officer appointments and child graduations.

A double ring ceremony united Donna Grace Chrisholm and John Joseph MacDonald on Saturday August 23 at St Marys Cathedral Winnipeg. Rev Father Mullally officiated assisted by organist Mr Matthews. bridesmaid Miss Elsie Renneberg and ushers Mr Jerry Cody and Cpl Keith Flett. The couple's families and attendants wore elaborate gowns with lace, chiffon, and pearls.

The bride wore mauve rayon and cotton with white accessories. her corsage mixed white mauve orchid. The ceremony included a reception at Peggy's Pantry, a centered cake table, and a best man toast. Congratulatory telegrams from P. E. L Vancouver and Boston were read. The couple honeymooned in Grand Forks N D South Bend Ind Albany N Y and Boston Maine. They will reside in Ste Peters Bay P E I where the groom teaches.
