Birdtail River School Board Holds Regular Meeting

The Birdtail River School Division No. 38 met at Shoal Lake on August 18 1964. Minutes adopt August 4 1964, discuss insurance, vehicle proof of roadworthiness, contract checks, and tender acceptances for the 1964 65 term including multiple routes with per day rates and passenger limits. The board adjourned to 8 p m.

Mrs Wayne Brown Feted At Winona Shower

A bridal shower for Mrs Wayne Brown formerly Doornthyr Boran of Birtle was held September 2 at the Winona Community Centre. The event featured a contest led by Mrs Wm Peel, welcoming Mrs Brown to the Winona district and inviting her to honor Wayne and his family. Guests from Isabella, Miniota and Two Creeks attended as Passerby helpers and gifts were opened with Mrs Naylor and Mrs Brown assisting.

Bertha Webber 74 Dies in Winnipeg Hospital

Bertha Mabel Webber aged 74 of Warwick Apts Winnipeg died in Winnipeg General Hospital on Friday August 28. Funeral at Pinewood Memorial Chapel on September 1 with Ronald Lambert officiating. Interment Pineview Gardens. Born in Prince Edward Island she moved to Winnipeg in 1911 and married Edward Webber of Crandall. Surviving two sons Arthur and Robert and five daughters with many grandchildren great grandchildren. One brother and one sister also listed.

Bryant-Lelond wedding ties two families in aug era ceremony

Victoria Jasmine Leland became Mrs Ronald William Bryant at Arrow River United Church in a Aug 15 ceremony officiated by Rev John Sloan.
