HEARN born October 7 a son Alfred Ivan to Bert and May Hearn. Explorers Group met at United Church with Ann Armitage as Chief Explorer. Miniota mourns death of Mrs A Lovatt of Hayfield. A Glenlochar community shower honored Alfie Blaich and Miss Mary Miles for upcoming marriage. Anniversary waltz for Mr and Mrs A Armitage and Mr and Mrs K Armitage Oct 22. Cards and dancing enjoyed.
Miniota Young People sponsor a Halloween masquerade dance at the Miniota Community Centre on Friday October 31. Novelty dances and costume prizes. Admission in costume 50 cents, not in costume 75 cents. Proceeds aid UNICEF. Tee note unreadable.

United Church Bazaar in Community Room last Friday netted receipts of 268 dollars.
