The Canada Safety Council offers Halloween advice for parents adults and children. Emphasizes clear vision with makeup over masks, reflective costume tape, and leaving a light on. Warns block parents to display signs, checks all treats at home, safe crossing, lighting, and staying with companions. Recommends flame proof costumes knee length or shorter.
The Birdtail River Festival will run November 3 4 5 in Strathclair with a final Friday concert. Three Wednesday and two Thursday speech sessions will be adjudicated by Linda McDowell of Winnipeg. Jim Belford of the University of Manitoba will judge folk and square dancing and gymnastics. Children may observe.
