Birdtail River School Board holds Oct 11 1973 meeting
The Birdtail River School Division No. 38 conducted its regular board meeting in Crandall on October 11 1973 at 8 p.m. Trustees Waddell Mulake Kreager Rapley Lewycky Armitage Butcher and Shier attended with new trustees-elect Mrs C Choptiuk and C Tolton. Nominations for school trustees were held October 3 1973 and all vacancies were filled by acclamation including two new members Mrs Choptiuk and Mr Tolton.

Baptism at Parkland Parish was performed by Rev H Lynas with Mr and Mrs Morris. Thanksgiving visitors to Mrs Robertson included Mr and Mrs Hyde and family of Treherne. Mrs Watt of Brandon and Mrs Knight of Hamiota phoned on Mrs Collie last week.

William Edwin Nankivell 89 of Hamiota died September 27 1973 at Hamiota hospital. Born June 4 1884 in Tynham Kent England he immigrated to Canada in 1906 settling Arrow River district. He married Lydia Ingram in 1908. she died 1912. Second marriage to Ellen Eileen Waters 1926. Survived by wife Ellen and eight children with partners and fifteen grandchildren. Funeral September 30 at Crandall United Church with burial in Arrow River Cemetery. Active pallbearers listed. honorary pallbearers named.
