Brandon expects a sell out as the 1963 Brier Curling Championship comes to Wheat City in March. Early sales praise from officials show 2,252 weekly book sales confirmed by general chairman Fred Pilcher and treasurer Ted Balance as the season begins.
Mr and Mrs Dennis Johnston of Brandon were guests of honor at Crandall School Auditorium on Friday September 28 to celebrate their August 27 marriage. Gary Van Buskirk read the address and Walter Lipscombe presented a monetary gift. Dennis thanked attendees as the evening included Court Whist, lunch, and socializing with local residents.
Amy Dianne Adele Cook wed September 14 at St Philips Anglican Church. Rev A H Cummings officiated. The bride wore white organza over taffeta with Chantilly lace, lily point sleeves, and a scalloped veil. Attendants Barbara Somers and E Weasely wore aqua blue tafetta dresses. Best man Jim Roberts and ushers Ed Wensely Frank McCormick. Reception for 100 at The Manhattan. Honeymoon planned in California.
The Miniota rally day service on Sunday March 30 featured the theme Hands thet in the Name of Christ. Rev John G Sloan installed teachers and officers as Russell Leland led the superintendent and new appointments were announced.

The C.G.LT. held its first meeting on September 26 with officers elected: President Ann Armitage, Vice President Linda Armitage, Secretary Judy Bryant, Treasurer Linda Morrow.
Local residents, including Mr. and Mrs. J E Stowe and children, hosted visitors from Winklair while Winnipeg colleagues Wayne Powell and Jack Dawes vacationed in late September. A birth in Birtle Hospital, a wedding prep, and church and school activities at Holy Trinity and Miniota United Church fill community life with upcoming events and officer elections.
Mr and Mrs E L Reynolds announce the engagement of their daughter Wilma Marie to Peter Kryshewski son of Mr and Mrs The wedding is planned for Saturday October 27 at 2 30 p m in Miniota United Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Borland and daughter Judy of Winnipeg visited Isabella for the weekend with Mrs. J. T. Finkbeiner. Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Adams spent the weekend with Mrs. R. Adams and family. Mrs. Adams accompanied them back to Winnipeg. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Kelly of Winnipeg visited at the Dave Beil home.
