George Stenson, a Miniotan native employed by the Celephone Co, drowned while canoeing on the Moose Jaw river. Witnesses heard his cries for help after a capsized craft but could not reach him before his body disappeared. He had recently come from Manitoba and was staying in Moose Jaw for telephone construction work.
