A Thursday citizens meeting exposed the town light committee’s deep deficit and high repair costs. Speakers questioned the fire fighting equipment funding and discussed reform, with Hodgett Warrener Berwick and Parker Evans urged to lead inquiries and stabilize finances.
Report from Sarahville school for September shows weekly exam based standings across grades. Senior list includes Crecle Warren Johnnie Reddon Willie Reddon Gracie Cornish Lalu Aspinwall Maggie Steuart Pearl McDonald Edie Mead. Intermediate and Junior groups feature numerous students headed by teachers.
A dance hosted by the Miniota district footballers will be held at Turner's Hall starting at 9 p.m. on October 31. The committee invites all footballers and others to attend, noting some may not receive invitations as the book cannot list every resident.
Tenders for the Miniota Skating and Curling Rink will be received until October 15. The property covers about 45 thousand feet of good lumber and will be sold on that date. For details contact W L Hodnett.

Rumors from all quarters say the Arrow River Footballers will hold a club dance soon, likely a swell affair. Council meets at Crandell on Tuesday next. Potatoes in town weigh a pound and a half each, dug from Hodgett's garden. F H Green of Winnipeg, representing Emerson Picw Company, spent days in town aiding Lodges Parkiseimo No 76. Next Board of Trade meeting is November 3 at Hawthorne's Hall 8:30. Attend.
Parkissimo No. 76 was instituted in Minlsola on Wednesday night October 5 with about thirty visiting members. Seventeen candidates received degrees as Rivers and other lodges demonstrated strong degree work. Officers were installed and a noon lunch followed. the new lodge lists 29 members and its first meeting is set for Tuesday October 25.
James D Forsyth and Linda McCallum united in marriage September 28 at Linda's home Molesworth Ontario. Rev McKelsey officiated at 11 am with extensive family and townsfolk in attendance. The couple plans to reside in Miniota after traveling from Gorrie. Also noted, Countess of Antrim theft jewels recovered by Pinkerton detective J H Murray.
Beulah reports the death of Mrs George Webster at her home at 12 30 this morning after two months of illness related to bowels. She was 35 years eleven months old, daughter of Mr and Mrs Dr Hill, and leaves a sorrowing husband four young children and relatives. Funeral from 40 Arto River cemetery Saturday at two o clock p m.
