Parents in South-West Manitoba are urged to have Kindergarten and Pre-School children screened for amblyopia a leading cause of partial blindness. Experts say vision development ends by age six or seven making early eye exams essential for preventing lifelong depth perception problems and potential accidents. Sponsored by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs with medical and school unit approval this survey targets ages three to five to protect future sight and safety.

Bride Elect Diane Williams Feted At Community Shower

A Saturday evening shower honored Miss Diane Williams a bride elect for November 8. Attending were her mother Mrs. Cecil Williams and Mrs. Harold Bailey of Winnipeg mother of the groom plus the bride’s paternal grandmother Mrs. Wm. Williams. Miss Edna Reynolds gave the presentation address while Judy Rowan arrived with a gift laden aeroplane. Gifts included a blanket sheets pillow cases mirror electric fry pan turn table punch bowl waste basket Pyrex bowl set. The W I committee organized shower and lunch for November December and January.

Birthday Celebrated in Miniota for 90th of Mrs Hall

Friends and relatives gathered at Mr and Mrs E L Reynolds home in Miniota on November 11 to honor Mrs A E Hall mother of Mrs Reynolds on her 90th birthday. The afternoon and evening guest book was signed by 83 guests and a buffet dinner was served to the immediate family.
