Miniota W I Meeting Highlights Years Work
Miniota W I met at the home of Mrs J C Vradenburgh with strong attendance for the annual gathering. Mrs R K Chalmers led the session praising cooperation and presenting Red Cross figures including 213 knitted items 161 sewing pieces 9 quilts and 11.05 in donations. A talk on War Time Prices and Trade Board measures followed and Mrs JC Vradenburg spoke on salvage material sales totaling 1973.
Victory Loan drives strong units and poultry sale notice
Canada Packers will buy dressed poultry at A Spencer's shop on Thursday December 3. The Third Victory Loan exceeded its unit quota with Miniota at 35 000 plus 2 000 and Unit 30 at 172 000 against 136 000. Citizens urged to purchase War Savings Stamps and Certificates to win the war and peace.

Germination Tests and Dormancy at North-West Line Elevators
Dr K W Neatby reports on germination testing of nearly 5,000 seed samples using two germinators with temperature control. Dormancy is addressed by a 59 F pre-chill, improving November results. Tests compared pre-chilled and non pre-chilled seeds in November January and May to ensure accurate germination percentages.
