Manitoba Weed Supervisors Emphasize Education and Seed ID
Manitoba weed supervisors meet at Brandon weed school to review new problems and chemical recommendations based on tests by the Weed Control Division, the university, and western Canadian stations. They stress weed seed identification, farm visits, calibrating sprayers, roadside spraying, and enforcing the Noxious Weeds Act as needed. Identified troublesome species include hemp nettle and scentless chamomile, with regional infestations in Interlake, Red Valley, Selkirk, and Erickson areas.
