The Miniota branch holds its next meeting at the home of E A Barnes Crandall after the Remembrance Day service on Monday November 11 at 10 45 in Crandall Church. Rev Ken Moffatt will give the address with Advance Ticket Sales President Ivan Sparks and 59oce Sec Treas EA Barnes listed.
Community notices report Holy Trinity W A meeting at Mrs J Foster’s home on November 7 with upcoming Christmas Bazaar at Miniota Community Centre on November 16. Also covered are local visits, a murder trial set for spring assizes, a Brandon music workshop, a fire scare, rink waiting-room expansion, and UNICEF fundraising activities at the school.
An advertisement urges farmers to insure grain stored on farms against fire and theft. It promotes low rates with a $1000 policy costing 80 cents for one month, $1.20 for two months, $1.60 for three months, and a $2.00 minimum, emphasizing risk reduction.
Estate and farm loan notices, auto licenses, and a real issuer of marriage licenses are listed.
Mrs. Mary Collingwood 93 of 71 Spence Street died Wednesday at 57 Kennedy Street. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Mordue Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. R. S. Montgomery officiating. She came from England in 1889 with her husband and family and is survived by two daughters Mrs. M Gurney Winnipeg and Mrs. E H Bally Vancouver, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her husband Robert predeceased her. A former resident of Miniota, she was active in Holy Trinity church circles.

Five demonstration teams from four area clubs presented talks at the Oct 24 event in the Minota Community Centre under Kiwanis sponsorship. Winners from Birtle and Arrow River earned spots to compete in Winnipeg during 4-H Week, Nov 4, with judges noting appearance, poise, and speaking ability.
Friends of the Community gathered at the home of Mr and Mrs Russell Clark to present Miss Mary Walker and Mr Bob Buchanan with a starter set of silverware and a purse Art Heise read the address and presented the gifts Bob thanked friends for their good wishes A dainty lunch concluded the evening The C N R section house and crew have moved from Seulah to Isabella and are settling in their new location.
