Aerty Pringle spent the weekend in Brndon while Geo. Countryman installs a gasoline service pump. Councillors attend the Union of Municipalities convention in St. Boniface this week. A WV M. S. meeting at Ossen Church parlors in Mir .ota on Wednesday. Mrs E Nichol spoke on immigration.
Fire heavily damaged Thos Haney's Uno residence on Thursday night. Residents were awakened by smoke around 2 am and believe overheated stove pipes started the blaze in the kitchen. The fine steam heated home with hardwood doors burned to a brick chimney. neighbors assisted but could not save belongings. The property was insured.
Jack Morrow visited Mr Go Spenser at Birtle. A Neelin left Friday for Vioneen to resume duties with the Educational commission. He will be away about two weeks and return in December.
The text notes Sakae and Mrs G Haney leaving for Glenora Manitoba to spend the winter with relatives. It mentions paying higher prices does not guarantee better quality and praises Tips Tea as the best at any price by W Hednett.
Thanksgiving Services at the Union Church Miniota will be held Sunday November 11 at 2 30. conducted by Rev J Flunter of Bineearth. Sunday is Arm is Day the afternoon service fits the occasion. Veterans and the community are invited to attend the service. Notice of Supper and lecture appears elsewhere in this issue.
The trainmen ball held Friday at the Miniota hall attracted a large crowd from far away. Withaws orchestra supplied fine music and the event featured a dainty lunch during the interval. The hall was prettily decorated with railway flags bunting and lanterns.
Halloween celebrations went ahead in town but a rack toppled on Jimmy Walker as it was moved from Dumbrell's hotel lane into a garden. He was unconscious and received medical care, remaining weak through Thursday but showing signs of recovery by afternoon.
A boys work conference was held at Union church Isabella from November 2 to 4 with delegates from Haniota Isabella Beulah Miniota Lenore and others. J McFadden Rivers delegation was elected Grand Praetor and oversaw business. Resolutions covered Summer Camp Fathers Banquets and Boys Parliament budget and nominations for Winnipeg 1821.
