A public gathering is to be held at the Miniota Community Centre at 8 p.m. on Thursday November 11 to discuss the proposed hospital project. The meeting invites residents and stakeholders to attend and share views on the plan.
The issue notes a Navy League tag day on Saturday raising 10.15. • Mr and Mrs F Bryant of Oak Point visit Calgary via C Ellerington home. • Mr and Mrs T Gilchrist return to Langley Prairie BC after summer here. • Mrs R Rollins visited her father in Deer Lodge Hospital who had surgery. • Whist drive at Community Centre yielded prizes to Phyllis Peel and Charlie MacKean. • Music by Hamilton Harmony Aces. crowd enjoyed dancing and lively social.
The Rural Council met October 16 with Reeve Lynch presiding. It approved the Canadian National Bus plan for bridges and road diversions at mileages 381, 377, and 369 and authorized signing the agreement with the railway. It also supported CP Rail relief from fencing on the Minnota subdivision. An Old Age Pension application was approved. By laws 1070 to 1075 were read and passed covering numerous lot transfers and tax sale actions. An elevating grader from Kane Marr Ltd was purchased for 550.00. The Assessor will be paid 225 for 1948 services. A tax sale is set for December 13 with Reeve authorized to buy certificates.
