The Merry Homemakers hosted an Achievement Night with junior demonstrations by Deb bie Richardson Heather Thompson Donna Bohm Cheryl Thompson Shirlay Armitage Pat Bastuke and senior displays by Lucille Goodwin Sharon Attwood Pat Kosternik Noreen Wadham. Highlights included a dress revue and awards for long service.

Golden Age Group Meet Hosts Visitors and Plans
The Golden Age Group meeting at Arrow River hall drew 45 members and five visitors including Mrs C Harding of Surrey England and Mr and Mrs J Dickie of Miniota. Corsages were given to Mrs Gillingerton, Mrs Hanna and Mrs Clegg who marked birthdays. Mrs J Cook chaired the session. a Centennial quilt project was announced and KR postponed meetings until September. Lunch by WI ladies followed a social close to a pleasant afternoon.

Cub and Scout Camporee Held Near Rivers Camp
A Cub and Scout Camporee took place south of Rivers Camp from May 20 to 22 led by Scout Master Jack Ringland and Assistant District Commissioner Amos Belleveau. About 50 Scouts and 95 Cubs participated with Cecil Williams and Rev Jack Nield guiding eight Minota scouts, while 17 Cubs were supervised by Cub Master Ed Wadham and Mrs Ed Wadham.

Birtle WI Holds Centennial Convention At Lenore
Delegates attended the Birtle District Women’s Institute annual convention in Lenore on May 12 1967. Mrs E V Fulton presided with musical openings and greetings from local officials. The day featured a memorial service, a fashion show spanning 1847 to 1937, scholarly addresses by Miss Gail Denbow and a year of WI achievements and future goals.
