Three sewing groups stage an Achievement Day on Tuesday June 2 in the Daughters of England Hall at 2 p.m. Display of work, a varied program, and an address by Mrs Hantin with Miss Stewart from the Extension department as judge. A silver tea will be served and district ladies are invited.
A meeting will be held at the Municipal Hall on Wednesday at 8 p.m to finalize plans for the Benedit Dance scheduled for Friday night.
Local notes from Miniota include visits by C K Wythe and family to Winnipeg, Daisy Wythe joining for the weekend, and Dr and Mrs Baldwin from Benito staying with the Lynch family. Mrs Baldwin plans to stay. J Spalding and Forsyth families visited Winnipeg. Ed Spalding returned. The first Miniota baseball game Friday night ended with Hamiota defeating Miniota by a wide margin.
On May 31 Purkissimo and district lodges of the 1.00 F. attend divine service at 3 p.m. at United church. evening service withdrawn to allow worship with visiting lodges. Five $1 prizes will be awarded from tickets. tickets sold until June 26 and admit at Brandon Fair Main Gate. Friday night Miniota Hall Big Benefit Dance 35 cents by Horver's Orchestra, lunch by WL. Meeting on High School Drama League formed with EH Reid president and Johnson VP. festival proceeds totals and allocations listed. Miniota W.L.Amseteur contest yielded $5 winner, $3 runner up, $2 third prize. audience prize money noted. Robbie Carnegie performed. John Spalding oversaw the gong. Total proceeds over $400 expected.
