An advertisement notes the Progressive nomination date shifted from the 2nd to the 27th of the month. Registration for Hamiota constituency voters occurred last Wednesday. A Court of Revision in Hamiota on the 16th allows late applicants to add names to the list. Harry Cornish visits town. Mr and Mrs Aspinwall travel to Winnipeg for medical care.
All work tendered on is to be started by not later than Jane Sch and proceeded with continuously and completed by not later than Auust 1st 1927. The latter condition of the tender is be strictly adhered to. The lowest of any tender not necessarily accepted. W. E. Warren, Secretary-Treasurer.
Mrs Leland Sr died after a lengthy illness in the early hours Tuesday. The funeral will be held today at 3 p.m. at Arrow River church followed by interment at Arrow River cemetery.
Percy Leam adds to the hotel with Veterans sports at Virden on Thursday featuring horse racing and baseball. The Assiniboine River levels drop leaving many previously flooded spots dry. Jubilee of Confederation celebrations plan invites 200 provincial representatives to Winnipeg to coordinate uniform plans. Tom Laidman shows fair pictures, new Saturday shows planned to boost attendance with the feature “A Lunatic at Lange.”
Tuesday June 21 marks Miniota Sports Day at a well attended meet held Friday night. The event features prize money for Senior Baseball Ladies Baseball Football Horseshoe Athletics and Basketball. A Queen Carnival is added with 3 to 1 nomination points for organizations or village communities, nominations due by May 18 with tickets printed for the secretary. Committee members are B Reveley M J Davis and Percy Leam.
