The Cor. reports on long-time residents and celebrants in the district. Mr and Mrs Jed Leland celebrate their 50th anniversary with family from Miniota and Easton. Leland ancestors helped build local schools and church. Community groups note 4 H clubs, UCW meetings, clothing drives, church painting plans, and social events at Beulah Isabella Square Dance Club with fundraising for Children’s Hospital and Senior Citizens Home.
Isabella and Mrs. Seaborn and daughters visited Winnipeg and Saskatoon relatives. Congratulations go to W Fulton and Judy Gilchrist on the birth of Thomas Allan May 1 at Winnipeg General Hospital. Mrs. Peel of Miniota is the baby's great great grandmother. Heise family traveled to Texas and Ontario, bringing home a new car from the factory. Ken Stewart vacationing with McCreary family. Jack Heise visited Brandon. Sunday service featured Mission Study group dedication highlights and contributions. Special Family Day planned for next Sunday. W.I. May meeting held at Mrs. Clark’s home with Mrs. Coxworth presiding.
Crandall Correspondent reports jurors serving in Minne dosa include Les Rudd William Hyndman and Glen Hankin. Fiddler family moves into late Mrs Crawford residence. Irvine visits Rocanville. A second public meeting discussed a Community Hall project and potential Orange Hall renovations, with a floor change and kitchen proposed but tabled to September. A Ways and Means Committee was chosen. May 3 gathering at Earl Millar home featured the card game "500" and lunch. H S Hyndman will visit Winnipeg with Mrs Hyndman staying with her mother this week.
The Progressive Conservative Nominating Convention for the Marquette Federal Constituency in Oakburn Parish Hall acclaimed J. Nicholas Mandziuk as MP. Attendees included Bob Smellie and Tom Seens who praised his Ottawa record and Western Canada prospects. George Hees and John Diefenbaker were cited in support. The event concluded with remarks on government policy and a coffee social.
Minutes from April 19 1962 and April 26 1962 meetings detail trustees Fulton Selby Stimpson Gamey Reynolds Fraser Hunter present. Actions include salary adjustment for A Parnetta retroactive to September 1961, third reading of By Law 4/62, and adjournment to May 8 1962.

The Birdtail River Fine Arts Festival is staged in Hamiota with events Thursday and Friday at the Hamiota Theatre and Unified Church and School Auditorium. An evening program Thursday at 7 30 p m features a church event and a Friday final concerto of winners closes the festival. Adjudicators include Howard Layton Brown Judy Acheson and Muriel Bain.
The 4 H Stitching Bees observed Achievement Day at the Community Centre with five girls modeling garments and a program of festival numbers. Patricia Attwood led as president and five-year course participants Patricia Attwood and Jan Finkbeiner were noted for advancing to further competition with a gold seal awarded to Patricia.
