Ladies Auxiliary Meeting Notes and Scholarship Plan
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Legion met April 29 with good attendance. One carload went to the Minneota Rally and returned with strong reports. A fifty dollar scholarship was approved for a veteran pupil. Mrs. Stewart was nominated as district representative succeeding Mrs. Bartlett.

Explorers Meet Rally at Miniota United Church
107 Explorers from Miniota Russell Binscarth Crandall Beulah and Hamida met at Miniota United church on April 25 under Miss E Reynolds Presbyterian secretary for Junior Groups. Beulah girls led worship and Mrs Curll of Birtle conducted singing. Each group reported on the past year’s Mission Project and Reynolds showed the film The World of Differences. Lunch concluded a successful day.

Mrs Hugh Gibbon Dies at Miniota After Illness
Mrs Hugh Gibbon of Miniota died in Hamiota Hospital on April 29 following a brief illness. Born January 28 1887 in Birtle she was the daughter of Herbert Little. Survived by husband Hugh, one son Eric of Winnipeg, two daughters Ruth Leland and Mary Blackshaw, four grandchildren, a brother Bert Little and a sister Mrs Frank Lawrance. Funeral held May 1 at Holy Trinity church with Rev W H Gregory officiating.
