The Miniota C G I T held its annual banquet in United Church School rooms on April 26 with a blue and white decor. Beth Armitage led a toast to the queen and to mothers, noting the organization’s fiftieth anniversary while Rev Pilling spoke on family life and parentteen communication.

Crowd attends Miniota Consumers Co op annual meeting
A large crowd gathered for the Miniota Consumers Co op annual meeting on April 26 at the Community Centre after a pre dinner. Maxwell Bohm was reelected chairman with Larry Walker as vice chairman and W. Long as secretary. Directors elected included Murray Bell Max Bohrn and Cecil Clegg with others Rusell Howard Frank Rowan Lloyd Evans and Larry Walker. The retiring member was J William Leland. By law changes allow directors to serve two three year terms before a one year retirement. Total sales were 219832 down 9516 from last year amid store renovations and higher receivables leading to borrowing. A self survey was reported with prints to members soon. Also noted were Geannaes Ey Grant Co ee as teacher of the Co op and Merv Stik manager and his wife of the Co op at Hamiota.

4-H Clubs Promote Slow Moving Vehicle Emblem
4-H clubs in Manitoba push acceptance of a 20 inch equilateral triangle slow moving vehicle emblem. With Manitoba Rural Safety Association support they urge farmers to display the sign on tractors and implements on public roads. Signs cost three dollars, complete outfits about 4.80 to 4.90, with blade or stand pipe attachments. Orders will be taken via local agricultural reps and 4-H leaders as campaigns unfold.
