Local Notes And Travels From The Community
Elsie Weidenbamer, visiting sister Mrs. J. Stowe, left Monday for Saskatoon. A J Leland drove to Winnipeg Friday with Mrs. M Spalding and Kathleen to settle there. Lebond and Mrs Spalding returned Sunday. Many visited Dave Canningham in Virden hospital. he improves and appreciates flowers and letters from the school and Masonic order.

St Georges Social Held At Collier Home
England hosts a St Georges social at the residence of Mr and Mrs Collier on Tuesday night with about 40 attendees. Court whist prizes went to Mrs C Wythe and C Ellerington and Mrs Horner and A E Aspneall. After cards and supper, dancing followed to music by the Bryant Bros and Rey Lelond.

Weekly half holiday notice and church meeting recap
The towns observe a Wednesday half holiday starting May 18 with stores closing at noon. United Church U P S held a regular meeting in the church parlors with duets by Peggy Clarke Kathleen Spencer K Lynch and J Cornish. Plans were made to hold one more meeting then a banquet. Lunch followed several games and the next meeting is set for Wednesday May 11 at 8 30 in the church.
