Easter Services Held Across Town Churches

Easter services in town churches drew strong attendance. At the Anglican church the Rev Woods of London conducted morning worship and the Easter communion was observed. The United church held evening services led by Rev Stephen with fine anthems and a solo by F. Frenklin. Following the service the Sacrament of the Lords Supper was observed.

Two rink matches decide McConnell cup in Minnedota scene

Two rinks from Decker played Thursday afternoon to decide the McConnel cup with Miniota leading 12 to 10 after two rinks won by Strickland Hodnet score and the Oak River squad claiming the cup in a close game. The Oak River visitors edged ahead by a single point to take the trophy and stay upbeat about returning to Oak River for more play.

Crandall Items Minolta hockey team won 4 to 1 in a home game Monday night. The W L regular meeting Thursday afternoon drew good attendance. Treasurer reported $83 in the bank and Mrs. J Coupe spoke on Urban results in Citizenry. Roll call included Mrs. W Hyndman as a prominent resident.

Morning and evening services drew strong crowds. Readings were given by Mrs H B Rees and Margaret Catto with musical numbers by Mission and Y P Bible Class girls. The choir led the singing as new hymn books were used for the first time.

Isabella Notes Holiday Visits and Church Service Report

The passage records teachers spending holidays at home and visits by Mrs J Robertson and family in Winnipeg, Mr R Calder returning from Victoria Miss N Corke visiting the Warrens. The W M S service was well attended with a shore kiaater message, hymns by the boys choir, and an Easter lesson read by Mr Amy. The programme featured Christ the first Missionary, a pageant Your Anchor Hold, The Rugged Cross, and closing prayers by Rev H Bowman.
