The Minietta W I met at the Community Center on March 14 with 12 members and 16 visitors. Reports covered Korea heritage, hospital funding, and a Hong Kong talk with slides. Members helped with rink kitchen cleanup and book market deadlines were set for March 23.
The Crandall 4H Potato and Garden Club reorganized in January with Ron Rudd as president and Harry Andrew as vice president. The club entered the district amateur in February at Crandall and held a bonspiel on March 2 with eight rinks.
Mr. and Mrs. F. Watters and Jack Morrow return home after visiting Frank Gardham in Kamloops and Vancouver. A grandson is born to Mr. and Mrs. John Oliver of Winnipeg. A Friday church concert drew a large crowd with talent from nearby congregations. Buda Dibblee visited relatives. Mrs. Watters and Mrs. Wiggens attended a Hospital Aid meeting in Hamiota.
Miniota Beef Calf Club met at Wilf Leland home with 14 members. A $15 donation went to 4H Club Council and $5 to the Red Cross. Mac and Kevin Leland led questions on cattle care and showed beef show parts. The February dance was a success. Next meeting is set for April 22 at S Taylor's.
Weekend visitors toured local homes including Mr. and Mrs. Kerr of Gladstone and Mr. and Mrs. Piett of Onanole. Isabella Explorers and Beulah Leaders shared Korea mission study in Beulah United Church with Hong Kong pictures. Lent talk by Dr. H Harland set for April 5 at Beulah United Church. Mr. Ford Wiggins to sing. Beulah WI meeting noted with 5 members and 1 visitor. various reports and club activities listed. Valerie Bray won the transistor radio in hockey draw.
Community notes from Miniota cover visits by Mr J Wythe Sr to the west coast and Mr Aspinwall of Calgary, hospital hops, a new fire pumper, and Mr J Morton breaking his hip. Also, crib hand records, honeymoon returns, book drives, pie plates at the rink, interclub bonspiel results, Irish Supper proceeds, and a mutual fire-fighting program.
Crandall News reports Mrs S Robus Mrs H Lel and Mrs D Elliott and Mrs G Shier won first prize bath room hampers at the Hamiota Ladies Spiel. Ronald Caveney hosted the Annual Carnival on March 9 with judges listing top placers across Preschool to 14 15 age groups.
Isabella notes the funeral of Hec tor McNish in Lyle ton Manitoba attended by Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Wright. Isabella beat Decker 6 4 in the Park issimo Minor Hockey League final, securing the season title. A trophy from the I O C F will follow. Awards from a Friday carnival at Isabella rink are announced.
