Old Brandon doctor recalls quilling birth tale in a Manitoba reminiscence
Charlie Gompf compiles notes from Brandon area memories about Dr W A Bigelow and a maternity case at a rural farm. The anecdote centers on a midwife using a goose quill and cayenne to aid delivery, followed by a playful remark about an impossible pie recipe. The piece also surveys local spring signs, sports, travel notes, and curling club details.

Adverts by lawyers lift ban in US and Britain
Reggie's Ramblings notes the lifting of advertising restrictions for the legal profession in the United States and Britain and predicts Canada may follow. The piece humorously contrasts the idea with choosing toothpaste, and references changing views on terms like lobster for a shiftless person.
