L Kinsey says he saw worlabirds at his residence last week, describing the encounter and location. He adds details of the sighting and timing, noting nothing else unusual occurred.
Rev. A. Moffatt spoke on What I Saw in Spain to the Literary Club. Souris Falcons defeated Winnipeg 4 2 in intermediate play downs while Arrow River junior hockey team handed Miniota a 12 1 defeat in a separate junior match.
Community notices list a carnival and dance in Miniota hall, a home handmade tea at Mrs J Greenfield, an April 1 concert at United church by Ladies Aid, a Easter bazaar and tea on April 16, and a Ranger’s play and concert on April 29 in Miniota Hall.
L Kinsey attends the Winter Fair in Brandon this week while Mimiota's travel prize is noted for Thursday. A spring assizes jury will convene at Minnedosa next Tuesday with members Peel Bruce Castle Mossop Lind and Dowell. Pollockes travel to Moosomin where their infant daughter is hospitalized with bronchial pneumonia. A Country Fair and Dance in Miniota Hall Friday invites attendance and nickels dimes and quarters. Forty women enjoyed a Military Whist Drive hosted by the Daughters of England. prizes went to Mesdames Berwick Walker Spencer Forsyth for representing Sweden and a dainty lunch followed.
The bonspiel began on Thursday with 19 rinks participating in Grand Challenge Citizens and Hanson events. A Consolation is planned along with prizes for four rinks in each major event. Additional prizes go to the rink with the largest end in one game and the rink that has the largest end scored against them.
The Miniota W I met on Wednesday with 20 members present led by Mrs Hanlin. The librarian announced new books for members and the public on payment of the usual fee. Miss E Sazaras demonstrated potato fondant and judged the candy contest. Edna Jaques was invited to visit Miniota in May for a public entertainment. Irish solos were sung by Bernice Wiggins and Mrs Cradenburgh led community singing with Mrs J R Lynch at the piano. Mrs Watts hosted.
John Wythe travels to Brandon on Saturday to display one of his fine young bulls at the Winter Fair. Jas Warren suffered a severe shaking after a fall down cellar steps in Porsyth's store last week.
